Topic 3: A Trip To Odisha

Instructions: An audio and some sentences are provided here. Their purpose is to assess your proficiency and level of understanding. The audio and its transcript provide information about Odisha. Listen to the audio carefully. Play it second time, and underline the key words in the script. Afterwards, try to complete the activities that are provided. Use a web dictionary such as shabdkosh.com to find out the meanings of new words. Two students should practice. Student 1 is Puja, and student 2 is Raj. Parents may role play with their children to practice this conversation.

पूजा : नमस्ते राज,आप कैसे हैं?

राज : नमस्ते पूजा, मैं अच्छा हूँ। आप कैसी हैं?

पूजा : मैं अच्छी हूँ। मैं ओडिशा घूमने गई थी। क्या आपने ओडिशा देखा है ?                   

राज : हाँ, मैंने ओडिशा देखा है। मुझे ओडिशा बहुत पसंद है।

पूजा : आपको ओडिशा में क्या पसंद है?

राज : मुझे ओडिशा का नाच, खाना, पुरी का मंदिर, समुद्र का किनारा और हरियाली बहुत पसंद है। आपको ओडिशा में क्या अच्छा लगा था?

पूजा : मुझे ओडिशा में रथ के पहिए पर बना हुआ कोणार्क मंदिर और मुखौटे पहन कर करने वाला छऊ नाच बहुत अच्छा लगा था। आपने ओडिशा में क्या-क्या खाया था?

राज  : मैंने ओडिशा में दालमा, पाखलभात, खाजा, झालमुरी, छेना-पोड़ा और रसगुल्ला खाया था। आपको ओडिशा का खाना कैसा लगा था

पूजा  : मुझे ओडिशा का मीठा-मीठा रसगुल्ला और मुलायम छेना-पोड़ा बहुत अच्छा लगा था। आप ओडिशा में कहाँ-कहाँ घूमने गए थे?

राज : मैं ओडिशा में समुद्र के किनारे घूमने गया था। क्या आपने समुद्र का किनारा देखा था?

पूजा : हाँ, मैंने समुद्र का किनारा देखा था। क्या आपने समुद्र के किनारे बालू से कलाकृति बनाई थी?

राज  : हाँ, मैने समुद्र के किनारे बालू से एक छोटा सा घर बनाया था। क्या आपने वहाँ कछुए देखे थे?

पूजा : हाँ मैंने वहां कछुए देखे थे। वे कौन-से कछुए थे?

राज : वे ऑलिव रिडले कछुए थे। वे मीलों तैर कर समुद्र के किनारे पर आते हैं और बालू में अंडे देने के बाद धीरे-धीरे समुद्र में वापस चले जाते है।  पक्षी उनके अंडे खा जाते हैं। हमें ऑलिव रिडले कछुओं को बचाना चाहिए।

पूजा : हाँ, हमें कछुओं को बचाना चाहिए।
