Topic 2: Mussoorie Visit

Instructions: Please read the transcript (text) of a conversation between two friends about a trip to Mussoorie is provided here. Read and listen to the audio the conversation carefully. Our purpose is to assess your proficiency and level of understanding. Play it a second time, and underline the key words given below. Afterwards, try to complete the activities that are provided. Use a web dictionary such as shabdkosh.com to find out the meanings of new words. Two students should practice the conversation pretending Student 1 as Riya and student 2 as Ritu. Parents may role play with their children to practice this conversation.

रिया :  नमस्ते रितु, आप कैसी हैं? 

 रितु  : नमस्ते रिया, मैं अच्छी हूँ। आप कैसी हैं?

 रिया :  मैं ठीक हूँ। आप छुट्टियों में कहाँ गई थीं?

 रितु :   मैं छुट्टियों में मसूरी घूमने गई थी। 

 रिया : मसूरी भारत के नक़्शे में कहाँ है? मसूरी कौन से राज्य में है?

रितु : मसूरी भारत के नक़्शे में उत्तर दिशा में है। मसूरी उत्तरांचल राज्य में है।

 रिया  : आप मसूरी क्यों गई थीं?

 रितु  : मुझे मसूरी अच्छा लगता है। मुझे मसूरी के पहाड़, 

झरने और ठंडा मौसम बहुत पसंद है। 

 रिया : आपने मसूरी मैं क्या-क्या देखा?

 रितु :  मैंने मसूरी में ऊँट की पीठ सड़क, मॉल रोड, गन हिल पहाड़, केम्पटी फॉल, और बाजार  देखा। 

रिया :  मसूरी में घूमने के लिए कौन-कौन सी सवारी थी?

रितु :  मसूरी में बस, ऑटो, रिक्शा, ट्राली, पिट्ठू और घोड़े की सवारियाँ थी। 

 रिया :  आपने मसूरी में क्या-क्या खाया?

 रितु :  मैंने मसूरी में उत्तर भारत का खाना खाया। 

मैंने पूरी, पापड़, दाल, चावल और बाल-मिठाई खाई।

रिया : आपको मसूरी में सबसे अच्छा क्या लगा?

रितु : मुझे मसूरी में ट्रैकिंग करना सबसे अच्छा लगा। 

रिया :  आप मसूरी से कब वापस आई थीं?

रितु :  मैं मसूरी से कल वापस आई थी।
