Hindi Sangam Foundation: A group of non-profit organizations based in New York and New Jersey joined hands with the Consulate General of India for organizing the First International Hindi Conference hosted by New York University, New York, in April 2014. Dozens of Hindi scholars representing leading US universities and language policy makers presented their Hindi related work at the conference. During a number of post-conference meetings held under the guidance of Ambassador Dnyaneshwar Mulay, the Consul-General of India, it was decided to create an independent organization for the future Hindi related activities. As a result, leaders of all four sponsoring non-profit organizations, Yuva Hindi Sansthan, Educators’ Society for Heritage of India (ESHI), Akhil Vishwa Hindi Samiti and Shikshyatan consented to launch a new body, which was named, ‘Hindi Sangam’. The four trustees of the Hindi Sangam Foundation represent the four sponsoring organizations. The Consul-General of India serves as a permanent invitee on the board of advisors.

Rutgers University School of Arts and Sciences (host): Rutgers is a leader in research and teaching on India. As one of only four U.S. institutions to have been awarded an Obama-Singh 21st Century Knowledge Initiative Award, for approximately $250,000, in the past five years Rutgers has actively deepened ties with universities and businesses in India. Through these efforts Rutgers established the Indian Council for Cultural Relations Chair of Contemporary Indian Studies in 2012. Rutgers University’s South Asia related activities are anchored by the university's South Asian Studies Program (SASP), which supports the teaching and research activities of South Asia-related faculty and students, runs the university's minor in South Asian Studies, furnishes fellowships and awards for students studying India and its diasporic communities, and hosts regular academic and cultural events intended to increase the profile of India at Rutgers and in New Jersey. Dr. Shaheen Parveen, Hindi lecturer, is academic coordinator of the conference. She is supported by Dr. Asher Ghertner, Director of South Asian Studies Program (SASP) at Rutgers, and Dr. Charles Häberl, Associate Professor and Chair of African, Middle Eastern, and South Asian Languages & Literatures (AMESALL). Yuva Hindi Sansthan (YHS), established in 2009, is a non-profit organization dedicated to promote Indian culture, heritage and values through the vehicle of Hindi language. The organization’s goal is to work for the revitalizing and promoting the heritage language Hindi among the youths in the United States and other countries. In order to meet its objective, YHS has also opened pathways to explore venues for working with the other organizations and institutions with similar goals and objectives, researchers, social activists and individuals.

Munshi with the blessing of Mahatma Gandhi in order to revive the true Indian culture, heritage and education suppressed for centuries by foreign powers.
