Ambassador (Mrs.) Riva Ganguly Das

Mrs. Riva Ganguly Das joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1986. She is a Post Graduate in Political Science from Delhi University. Prior to joining the Foreign Service, she was a Lecturer at Delhi University. Her first posting was in Spain. Thereafter, she was at Headquarters dealing with External Publicity, Nepal and Passport/Visa work.
She was Head of the Cultural Wing of the Indian High Commission in Dhaka. After her return from Dhaka, she took over as Director at the United Nations Economic and Social Affairs Division and participated in environmental negotiations, particularly climate change. She was the Deputy Chief of Mission in the Embassy of India, The Hague. She was also the Alternate Permanent Representative of India to the Organisation for Prohibition of Chemical Weapons at The Hague. She served as Consul General of India in Shanghai from 2008 to 2012. After her return from China, she headed the Public Diplomacy Division and later the Latin America & Caribbean Division in the Ministry of External Affairs. Before joining as Consul General of India in New York, she was Ambassador of India to Romania, Albania & Moldova with residence in Bucharest.

Dr. Heinz Werner Wessler, Uppsala Univeristy

Dr. Heinz Werner Wessler is professor of indology with a focus on modern South Asian languages and cultures, continuing an old tradition of teaching and research in Southasian linguistics and philology in Uppsala, Sweden. The first Sanskrit teaching actually started in 1838 at this place. His background is in classical indology, but for many years his personal focus is on Hindi and Urdu, and cultural history, religion and society in India and Pakistan.

Prof. Olga Kagan, UCLA

Olga Kagan is a professor in the UCLA Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures, and director of the Title VI National Heritage Language Resource Center (NHLRC). Kagan is in charge of the Russian Language Program and is director of the Russian Flagship Center. She has published textbooks of Russian both as a foreign language and as a heritage language. Her textbook of Russian as a Heritage Language, Russian for Russians, received a book award from the American Association of Teachers of Russian and Eastern European Languages (AATSEEL). Her current main research interest is the teaching of heritage languages. In 2015 she received MLA Award for Distinguished Service to the Profession.

Yaseen Ansari, an experienced journalist based in the state of Uttarkhand, India, is the president of Vishwa Hindi Patrakar and Sahity Samiti. He is currently serving as the Bureau Chief of a leading Hindi Daily, Amar Ujaala. With his wide experience as a reporter ad writer for newspapers and magazines in India, Yaseen is devoted to promotion of Hindi in and outside of India, especially for establishing Hindi as an official language of the United Nations.

Dr. Susham Bedi, Writer, Columbia University, New York

Susham Bedi is a leading South Asian (Indian) author of novels, short stories and poetry. She has taught language and literature at the department of Middle Eastern and Asian Languages and Cultures(MEALAC) at Columbia University, New York. She writes predominantly about the experiences of Indians in the South Asian diaspora, focusing on psychological and 'interior' cultural conflicts. In January, 2006 she was honored by Sahitya Academy in Delthi for her contributions to Hindi literature.

Dr. Ved Chaudhary

Dr. Ved Chaudhary co-founded Educators Society for Heritage of India, which conducts programs to teach Hindi and Indian culture to heritage students including a STARTALK program. Dr Chaudhary co-founded the Indian American Forum for Political Education, NJ Chapter, to stop 'Dotbusters', a gang involved in hate crime.  A Hate Crimes bill was passed by the New Jersey legislature and signed into law by the Governor in 1991.

Former Assemblyman Upendra ChivukulA

Former Assemblyman Upendra Chivukula is an Electrical Engineer and has worked for AT&T Bell Laboratories. He worked in the private sector for more than 30 years before entering politics. He co-authored a three books on supplier management, three books on best industry practices and a book on income inequality called "The Third Way.” Upendra Chivukula was appointed to the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities as a Commissioner in October 2014 after he served part of his seventh term in the NJ State Assembly representing the 17th district, which encompasses five central New Jersey towns.  He is the former Deputy Speaker, New Jersey Assembly. In the NJ Legislature, he served as Chairman of the Telecommunications and Utilities Committee, and Vice-Chair of Homeland Security Committee. Chivukula has served Franklin Township, as a councilman and as Deputy Mayor, and Mayor.

Dr. Sarla Choudhary

DR. SURENDRA GAMBHIR, UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA AND CHAIRMAN, YUVA HINDI SANSTHAN

डा० सुरेन्द्र गंभीर – यूनिवर्सिटी ऑफ़ पेन्सिल्वेनिया (1973-2008); शोध का विषय – आप्रवासी भारतीयों की भाषाओं का संरक्षण और ह्रास;  सेवा-निवृत्त होने के बाद युवा हिन्दी संस्थान के संस्थापक-सभापति और स्टारटॉक कार्यक्रमों के सलाहकार।

Dr. Surendra Gambhir, who served as a distinguished member of the faculty of the University of Pennsylvania between 1973 and 2008, is the recipient of many awards, with the most recent one from the President of India for hislanguage related research aboutIndia, the Caribbean, Mauritius and the United States. He is the founding Chairman of Yuva Hindi Sansthan and consultant to STARTALK programs.

Dr. Vijay Gambhir

डॉ. विजय गंभीर तीन दशक से भी अधिक समय तक यूनिवर्सिटी ऑफ़ पेन्सिल्वेनिया के दक्षिण एशिया विभाग में प्राचार्य रहीं। वहाँ उन्होंने हिन्दी भाषा, भाषा-विज्ञान, हिन्दी- उर्दू शिक्षण शास्त्र, और भारतीय साहित्य से संबंधित कई कोर्स पढ़ाये।  उनकी पी.एच.डी. भाषा विज्ञान में पेन्सिलवेनिया विश्वविद्यालय से ही है। 2008 में सेवा निवृत्ति के बाद भी वे निरन्तर द्वितीय भाषा से जुड़े शोध में रत हैं । उनके प्रकाशनों में 'Teaching and Acquisition of South Asian Languages’, यूनिवर्सिटी ऑफ़ पेनसिल्वेनिया प्रेस द्वारा प्रकाशित पुस्तक,  for more than three decades. लय येगाऔर अनेक शोध-लेख सम्मिलत हैं जो राष्ट्रीय और अंतरराष्ट्रीय मान्यता-प्राप्त पत्रिकाओं और शोध-ग्रन्थों में छपे हैं। उनकी अन्य कृतियों में ‘नई दिशाएं नए लोग’ (New Directions New People), नामक हिंदी शिक्षण की लोकप्रिय सामग्री उल्लेखनीय है। इस विडियो और वेब के रूप में उपलब्ध सामग्री की वे सह-लेखक व सह-निर्माता हैं।

Dr. Arpita Ghatak
 

Arpita Ghatak holds a PhD in English Literature from Banaras Hindu University, India. Her doctoral dissertation revolves mainly around the fiction of Rabindranath Tagore and the shifting gender dynamics in the colonial Bengal. Her areas of interest include Gender Studies, South Asian Literature and Postcolonial Studies. She is currently a Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant at New York University, teaching her native language Bangla and Hindi.

Brij Gupta is connected with Educators Society for Heritage of India for several years, which conducts programs to teach Hindi and Indian culture to heritage students including a STARTALK program. Brij is a Telecom Engineer by profession but has been serving Indian community for more than 10 years by teaching Hindi to Heritage and non-Heritage learners.
 

Dr. Gabriela Nik. Ilieva

डॉ. गब्रिएला निक इलिएवा सी. प्रोफेसर न्यूयोर्क विश्वविद्यालय के मध्य एशिया और इस्लाम के अध्ययन के विभाग में हिन्दी और उर्दू कार्यक्रमों की संयोजिका है। हिन्दी भाषा पाठ्यक्रम के अतिरिक्त प्राचीन भारतीय साहित्य औ‌र आधुनिक दक्षिण एशिया का साहित्य भी पढ़ाती है। सन् २००७ में गब्रियेला को गोल्डेन डोजन पुरस्कार न्यू यॉर्क विश्वविद्यालय से सम्मानित किया गया।

Dr. Gabriela Nik. Ilieva, Clinical Professor, Department of Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies, Coordinator of the Hindi and Urdu Programs, New York University, teaches Hindi language courses, as well as Ancient Indian Literature and Modern South Asian Literature courses. In 2007 she received Golden Dozen Teaching Award, NYU.

Sakshi Jain

Sakshi Jain is presently a Fulbright Language Teaching Assistant at NYU.  She will start her PhD at Arizona State University this fall. She was a research scholar at the Centre of Advanced Studies in Linguistics, University of Delhi. She holds an MPhil and MA in linguistics and a BA in English discipline from the University of Delhi. She was also awarded a certificate in news reading, anchoring, and voiceover from the University of Delhi. Ms. Jain had the opportunity to apply her training of past and new learnings at NYU while teaching Hindi to students with varied backgrounds, an experience that has enhanced her understanding of the teaching-learning process overall.

Dr. Prem Janmejai

18 मार्च 1949 को इलाहबाद में जन्मे प्रेम जनमेजय सामयिक हिंदी व्यंग्य लेखन में अपने प्रखर रचनात्मक लेखन के द्वारा हिंदी व्यंग्य में एक महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभा रहे हैं। अपनी विशिष्ट लेखन शैली के कारण उनकी एक अलग पहचान है। इनकी चर्चा के बिना सामचिक हिंदी व्यंग्य पर बातचीत अधूरी है। प्रेम जनमेजय ने हिंदी व्यंग्य को अपने लेखन एवं ‘व्यंग्य यात्रा’ पत्रिका के संपादन द्वारा फूहड़ होने से बचाया है। प्रेम जनमेजय के चैदह व्यंग्य संकलन, दो व्यंग्य नाटक, एक कहानी संकलन, एक बाल उपन्यास दो कहानी संकलन, तीन नवसाक्षरों एवं दर्जन से अधिक रेडियो नाटकों के अतिरिक्त बारह पुस्तकों का संपादन। उत्तर प्रदेश एवं दिल्ली सरकार के अतिरिक्त त्रिनिदाद, दक्षिण अफ्रीका, लंदन आदि में सम्मानित। व्यंग्य क्षेत्र के लगभग सभी पुरस्कारों एवं सम्मानो से सम्मानित। चालीस से अधिक वर्ष तक का दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय में तथा चार वर्ष तक वेस्ट इंडीज विश्वविद्यालय में अतिथि आचार्य के रूप में  अध्यापन का अनुभव। इन्होने  त्रिनिदाद और टोबैगो में अपने चार वर्ष के प्रवास के दौरान वहां के जनजीवन को गहराई से समझा और जहाजी भाईयों के योगदान को रेखांकित करती हुई ‘जहाजी चालीसा’ काव्यकृति की रचना भी की।यूू0के0, न्यू जर्सी मिआमी , वेस्ट इंडीज दक्षिण अफ्रीका और भारत में आयोजित अंतर्राष्ट्रीय सम्मेलनों में आलेख पाठ एवं चर्चाओं में अध्यक्षता,एवं सक्रिय भागेदार। 1999 एवं 2015 में आयोजित विश्व हिंदी सम्मेलन में महत्वपूर्ण सहभागिता।

Seema Khurana has been teaching Hindi language and literature for 15 years as a Senior Lecturer at Yale University. She is an Executive Board Member of South Asian Language Teachers Association (SALTA) and a Board Member of the World Hindi Foundation.  She serves on the South Asian Studies Council and several other committees at Yale University. She served on the Task Force Committee to create Standards for Learning Hindi K-16 in the United States. She is actively creating teaching content for Hindi, such as “Partition Narrative Project”—a collection of recorded and edited filmed interviews of Partition survivors; “Hindi in Diaspora” - a collection of written works and audio/video clips – from news broadcasts, interviews, soap operas, readings and Hindi cinema depicting Hindi in Diaspora, serve as a growing database to understand issues of assimilation and identity. She pioneered internationally recognized collaborative intercollegiate language discussion forum – ‘Yale Hindi Debate’.

Dr. Anil Prabha Kumar has taught language and literature at the department of South Asian Studies program at William Paterson University, New Jersey. She is a well-known author of short stories and poetry in Hindi. Her short stories have been published in reputed magazines of India.  During her tenure with “Voice of America”, she had the opportunity to interview world- renowned celebrities like Mother Teresa, Sitar maestro Pandit Ravi Shankar, film director Satyajit Ray and Indian Cinema’s greats like Lata Mangeshkar and Amitabh Bacchan.  In February 2016, a special discussion was organized on her short stories at Mumbai University.

कोशकार अरविंद कुमार ने हिंदी भाषा को युगांतरकारी समांतर कोश दे कर हिंदी के विकास मेँ गवेषणात्मक योगदान किया है. समांतर कोश (1996) के प्रकाशन के बाद अरविंद कुमार ने अनेक प्रख्यात कोश दिए: अरविंद सहज समांतर कोश, शब्देश्वरी, द पेंगुइन इंग्लिश-हिंदी-इंग्लिश थिसारस ऐंड डिक्शनरी, बृहत् समांतर कोश, अरविंद वर्ड पावर: इंग्लिश-हिंदी और अरविंद तुकांत कोश.
यह सभी कोश उन की 40 सालोँ की महनत से सृजित अरविंद लैक्सिकन डाटाबेस पर आधारित हैँ जिस मेँ हिंदी की 5,56,960 और इंग्लिश की 4,55,794 अभिव्यक्तियाँ संयोजित हैँ ओर जो द्विभाषी थिसारस-शब्दकोश-भाषाखोजी का काम करता है (www.arvindlexicon.com.)
मेरठ शहर मेँ जन्मे 86 वर्षीय अरविंद सुप्रसिद्ध पत्रकार भी हैँ. वह माधुरी और सर्वोत्तम रीडर्स डाइजेस्ट के संस्थापक-संपादक और सरिता, मुक्ता, कैरेवान के कार्यकारी सहायक संपादक रहे हैं. अरविंद कुमार शलाका सम्मान, विश्व हिंदी सम्मान, सुब्रह्मण्य भारती पुरस्कार, डाक्टर हरदेव बाहरी सम्मान आदि सम्मानोँ से आभूषित हैँ.

Arvind Kumar is best known for his path-breaking, landmark work in Hindi lexicography ~ his Samantar Kosh is the first-ever thesaurus in any modern Indian language. Arvind has also given us many acclaimed lexicographic works including Arvind Sahaj Samantar Kosh, Shabdeshwari, The Penguin English-Hindi -English Thesaurus and Dictionary, Brihat Samantar Kosh, Arvind Word Power: English-Hindi and Arvind Tukant Kosh. All these works are based on the Arvind Lexicon database – with 5,56,960 Hindi and 4,55,794 English expressions -  compiled single-handedly by Arvind over the last 40 years and which combines the functionality of a thesaurus-dictionary-language explorer (www.arvindlexicon.com.) Born in Meerut, 86 year old Arvind has been a successful journalist. He has been the founder editor of Sarvottam (Reader’s Digest in Hindi) and Madhuri as well as assistant editor of Sarita, Mukta and Caravan magazines. Arvind is the recipient of Shalaka Samman, Vishwa Hindi Samman, Subramanya Bharti, Doctor Hardev Bahri and many other awards.

Ms. Sushma Kumar is the founder and director of Kanti Hindi Kendra, LLC, serving the lower Hudson valley area, New York. The center aims at promoting Hindi language and culture learning and teaching, based on ACTFL and STARTALK World-Readiness standards and revolutionary methods of teaching languages. She is currently serving as the Program Director and Instructional Lead of STARTALK Hindi Language and Culture Immersion Program, 2016.  Ms. Kumar also serves as Kean University's STARTALK Hindi instructor, 2013-present.  She has been teaching Hindi to heritage and foreign language learners (Pre K to Adults) in the lower Hudson valley area since 2006 and has also taught Hindi at St. John's University, NY. She is a charter member of National Language Service Corps and has the 'Language Sustainment and Enhancement' training conducted by NLSC.

डॉ.बिजय कुमार मेहता ह्रदय रोग विशेषज्ञ के साथ एक सह्रदय भावुक और सफल कवि हैं। चार दशकों के अधिक समय से न्यूयॉर्क में अपनी चिकित्सीय व्यस्तता में रहते हुये भी आपका अपनी मातृभूमि भारत के प्रति इतना लगाव रहा है कि आपनें भारतीय संस्कृति, राष्ट्र प्रेम आदि भावनाओं को उत्प्रेरित करने वाले अनेक खण्ड काव्य  एवम् महाकाव्य लिखे हैं जिनमें " मधुमास के फूल," पुष्पांजलि" तथागत," "भिक्षुणी," "प्रणय परिजात,"सम्राट चन्द्रगुप्त को भारत एवम् अमेरिका दोनो ही देशों में विशेष सराहना मिली है। बिहार के भीखमपुर गाँव में जन्में डॉ.मेहता का ऐतिहासिक पृष्ठभूमि पर आधारित "सम्राट चन्द्र" महाकाव्य उदात्त आदर्शो के सृजन का मानक बनकर उपस्थित हुआ है। इसका रूप काव्य नाटक का है।अतः इसका मंचन भी सम्भव है।

मेरा नाम नीलम मिश्रा है । मैं न्यू जरसी, एडिसन में, यहाँ के दोनों हाई स्कूल में  ९ साल और ४ महीने  से हिंदी भाषा पढ़ा रही हूँ।  मैंने एडिसन हिंदी पढ़ने के लिए पाठ्य क्रम बनाया और तब से यही पढ़ा रही हूँ। मैंने मेरठ यनिवर्सिटी से अंग्रेजी और हिंदी में M.A. किया है । पढ़ाने के साथ साथ जब भी मुझे समय मिलता है मुझे गाना, कविता लिखना और नाचना बहुत पसंद है। मैं हिंदी उर्दू संस्थान से भी जुडी हूँ ।

Shri L. T. Ngaihte, Consul in the Consulate is in charge of Press, Information & Culture besides being the Head of Chancery(HOC). He is also currently looking after the Community Affairs. He joined CGI, New York in May, 2014 on his transfer from Indian Embassy in Kabul. Earlier he served Indian missions in Italy, Mauritius, Hong Kong, and Jordan.

न्यू जर्सी के एडिसन निवासी अशोक ओझा पेशे से पत्रकार और शिक्षक हैं। युवा हिंदी संस्थान के संस्थापक - सदस्य के रूप में 2010 से इसकी अध्यक्षता कर रहे हैं।  केन विश्वविद्यालय में स्टारटॉक हिंदी कार्यक्रमों की शुरुआत करने वाले अशोक प्रति वर्ष युवा हिंदी संस्थान के लिए भी अनुदान-प्रस्तावों को सफल अंजाम देते आ रहे हैं। पिछले तीन वर्षों से पेनसिलवेनिया के नॉर्थ पेन्न स्कूल जिले में हिंदी स्टारटॉक कार्यक्रम के माध्यम से सैकड़ों माध्यमिक और हाई स्कूल विद्यार्थियों को हिंदी शिक्षा प्रदान करने के साथ ही भारतीय समाज में हिंदी के प्रति जागरूकता फैलाने की अनवरत कोशिशें करते रहे हैं। उनके प्रयासों से केन विश्वविद्यालय के अतिरिक्त मिड्डलसेक्स काउंटी कॉलेज और बेनसेलम स्कूल में हिंदी पाठ्यक्रम लागू हुए। साप्ताहिक साउथ एशियाई टाइम्स में नियमित लेखन के अलावा समाज में हिंदी के प्रति जागरुकता बढ़ाने के उद्देश्य से शिक्षाविदों, प्राध्यापकों, नीति-निर्धारकों, और विभिन्न पेशों से जुड़े व्यक्तियों को एक मंच पर लाने के लिए सन 2014 से अंतर्राष्ट्रीय हिंदी सम्मेलन का संयोजन करते आ रहे हैं। भारत और अमेरिका के  युवा शोधार्थियों को हिंदी शिक्षण की अग्रिम पंक्ति में खड़ा करने की नयी शैक्षणिक योजनाओं को मूर्त रूप देने के लिए सक्रिय अशोक ओझा ने अमेरिका में अंतर्राष्ट्रीय हिंदी सम्मलेन को वार्षिक रूप प्रदान किया है।  

Ashok Ojha, a New Jersey based professional journalist and certified teacher, is dedicated to the promotion of Hindi teaching and learning using World Standards for Teaching Foreign Languages in USA. He is the founder-president of Yuva Hindi Sansthan and coordinator of International Hindi Conference, Americas since 2014. He galvanized the Indian American communities in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania in support of Hindi, formed Hindi Sangam Foundation, a consortium of half a dozen social and cultural organization, and collaborated with a number of institutions, such as Kean University in NJ, Bensalem and North Penn School Districts in Pennsylvania, Middlesex County College in Edison, NJ and Franklin Township School District, NJ, for introducing Hindi programs. He has been directing STARTALK Summer Hindi Language and Culture Programs since 2010 in various parts of USA.

Sudhir M. Parikh, M.D., is one of the most honored Indian Americans. Topping the honors is the 2010 Padma Shri conferred on Dr. Parikh by the President of India, Prathibha Patil. In March 2012, recognizing his philanthropic contributions, Dr. Parikh has been nominated as Knight of the Ecumenical Hospitaller Order of St. John Knights of Malta. He is the recipient of the 2006, Pravasi Bharatiya Samman, bestowed on non-resident Indians (NRIs) by the government of India. He’s also a recipient of the 2005 Ellis Island Medal of Honor. In October 2013, Dr. Parikh was honored with the Mahatma Gandhi Pravasi Samman at Britain’s House of Lords, by Rt. Hon. Baroness Sandip Verma. He was a Member of American Media Delegation that accompanied President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama on their visit to India in November 2010. Dr. Parikh was appointed member of the National Leadership Advisory Committee of the Congressional Caucus on India and Indian Americans in 1999 in recognition of his efforts on the Hill.

डॉ. नीलाक्षी फुकन वर्तमान नार्थ  कैरोलिना स्टेट यूनिवर्सिटी में टीचिंग एसिस्टेंट प्रोफेसर के रूप में काम कर रही हैं। डॉ. फुकन ने भारत के डॉ भीमराव अम्बेडकर विश्वविद्यालय (पूर्व में आगरा विश्वविद्यालय) से पीएच डी और साथ ही हिंदी साहित्य और भाषाविज्ञान में स्नातकोत्तर की उपाधियाँ हासिल की हैं ।

Dr. Phukan is currently teaching a synchronous and online Hindi-Urdu language and literature courses to multiple campuses within UNC system along with South Asia related various literature courses as part of the World Literature curriculum. She has created the curriculum for synchronous language courses and designed and produced 27 Hindi-Urdu conversational movies based on real life situations championed by ACTFL OPI training. She has experience of teaching Urdu language to the militaries of Fort Bragg. She has been teaching STARTALK summer program and currently working on ACTFL OPI tester certification.

पिछले साल हमने इस्तांबुल विश्वविद्यालय में एक बड़ा सेमिनार किया जो कि भारतीय भाषा से संबंधित था। मैंने जवाहर लाल नेहरू विश्वविद्यालय से अपनी पीएचडी किया है। मैं इस्तांबुल में भारतीय भाषा को बढ़ावा देने के लिए बहुत अधिक प्रयास कर रहा हूँ।

Dr. Rakesh Ranjan is a Senior Lecturer and Coordinator of the Hindi Urdu Program. He received a Ph.D. in Linguistics (Some Morphological and Syntactic Features of Mauritian Bhojpuri) from University of Delhi (1997). He has been teaching Hindi language, literature and linguistics to American graduate and undergraduate students for the last fifteen years. He began his teaching career as the Head (Program Director) of the Hindi Language Program of the American Institute of Indian Studies (AIIS) in Varanasi, India in 1993. He joined the Hindi Program at Emory in 1999. He has designed and supervised many Hindi programs. He has been active in academic projects of the South Asian Language Resource Center (SALRC) and the South Asian Language Teachers Association (SALTA). His research interests are Hindi pedagogy, issues of heritage learners and South Asian diaspora.

Dr. V. Jagannadha Reddy (44 years) is working in the field of Hindi teaching at master’s level, guiding research scholars for their doctoral degrees and involved in promoting awareness of learning and usage of Hindi language in South India for last 20 years and in Annamalai University of Tamilnadu since a decade and half. He has good knowledge in the usage of latest technology for promoting Hindi learning and teaching. Two software developed by him namely ‘Translators’s Tool For Admnistrative Terminology (ENG-HIN-TEL)’ and ‘Reversible Multi Lingual Dictionary (ENG-HIN-TEL-TAM)’ are the outcomes of his research aptitude. He has been elected as Fellow of Royal Asiatic Society of London for his monograph ‘Glimpses of Tamil Culture in Silappathikaaram’. He is a member of various committees which are involved in designing and implementation of Hindi teaching and learning in many universities of India.

Founder editor and publisher of The Indian Panorama published from New York and Dallas, Prof. Indrajit S. Saluja is a serial editor of newspapers and magazines. After moving to the US in 2003, he has also been responsible for starting four Punjabi papers: Shane-e-Punjab (2004), Punjabi Duniya (‘04), Apna Punjab (‘05), and Punjabi Patrika (‘07). He also did a stint as editor of South Asian Insider and is a well-known anchor on Ravi Punjabi TV, Jus One and ITV channels.  He is the founder editor of the Hindi weekly newspaper “Hum Hindustani” which was launched on the occasion of India’s Independence Day in August, 2011.

Prof. Saluja is not only a deft editor and a tireless journalist, regularly attending and covering all major community events in the Tristate area, he has also been growing into the role of an indefatigable community builder, forming a bridge between the Indian community, which is gaining numbers and clout, and the mainstream American community. His services have been recognized by the Indian community and the mainstream American community in the form of various honors.

Dr. Randhir Singh

Dr. Randhir Singh is working as Head of the Post Graduate Department of Hindi at Dyal Singh College, Karnal, Haryana (India) affiliated to Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra. His specialization is in the fields of Medieval Sant Sahitya and Modern Literature. He was awarded Ph.D. from Kurukshetra University on the topic ‘Sant Garibdas Ki Vani Mein Darshan Aur Rahasyavad’. His two books published mainly focus on the issues related to human values, religion, culture and Sant Sahitya. He has also presented about 40 Research Papers in various National and International Seminar/Workshops. He has guided 08 scholars for Ph.D. and 25 candidates have worked under his supervision for M.Phil. His rich experience of Research Guidance is a reflection of his teaching potential, writing skills and scholarship. 30 Research Papers published in various National and International Research Journals and Magazines go to his credit. He emphasizes on uplifting the status of Hindi Language and maintaining and promoting Indian Culture. This strengthens the fact of his unbinding inclination towards Hindi Language and proves his National Identity.

Akhil Sud

Akhil Sud is a senior at Yale College, pursuing a BA in economics. Born and brought up in India, he is interested in understanding, facilitating, and being part of the interaction of different cultures. At Yale, he has been the President of the annual, national-level Yale Hindi Debate for three years, and has been intimately involved with every aspect of the event, which sees participation from faculty and students from USA’s preeminent schools, including Yale, Harvard, Princeton, Columbia, Cornell, UPenn, NYU, UCLA, Wesleyan, Wellesley, Purdue, Rutgers, and UT Austin. Outside of the debate, Akhil has also taken classes in Hindi literature taught by Professor Seema Khurana, including Hindi in the Diaspora and Independence and Post-Independence Writing. His work experience as a student includes summers at the Indian National Council of Applied Economic Research, the Albright Stonebridge Group, and the World Health Organization. After completing his BA, he will attend Yale Law School, where he will pursue a JD.

नैनीताल निवासी डॉक्टर गिरीश रंजन तिवारी ने जनसंचार और पत्रकारिता में पीएच डी हासिल की है। सम्प्रति कुमायूँ विश्वविद्यालय में पत्रकारिता और जन संचार विभागाध्यक्ष हैं। इलेक्ट्रॉनिक मीडिया, प्रेस क़ानून और संवैधानिक विषयों पर अनेक पुस्तकों के लेखक डॉक्टर तिवारी ४०० से अधिक लेख, सम्पादकीय टिप्पणियाँ लिख चुके हैं। वे उत्तराखंड ओपन यूनिवर्सिटी में मीडिया अध्ययन से जुड़ी समिति के विशेषज्ञ सदस्य हैं। वक़्ता के रूप में अनेक देशों की यात्रा भी कर चुके हैं।

पद्म भूषण सम्मान से अलंकृत डॉ. लक्ष्मी प्रसाद यरलागड्डा, आंध्र विश्वविद्यालय, विशाखापत्तनम के हिंदी प्राध्यापक रहे हैं। राज्यसभासद के रूप में हिंदी के माध्यम से राष्ट्रिय अस्मिता के पक्षधर, तेलुगु और हिंदी में अनेक पुस्तकों के लेखक डॉ. यरलागड्डा अहिन्दी भाषी प्रदेशों में हिंदी के विकास और पठन-पाठन के सशक्त पक्षधर रहे हैं।  अमेरिका में हिंदी केंद्र की स्थापना के लिए भारत सरकार का सहयोग प्राप्त करने में प्रयत्नशील भी हैं।
