Yuva Hindi Sansthan Virtually Celebrates Hindi Day, Sept 20, 2020
न्यू जर्सी, अमेरिका में वर्चुअल हिंदी दिवस समारोह आयोजित
न्यू जर्सी, अमेरिका स्थित युवा हिंदी संस्थान की तरफ से विगत 20 सितम्बर को हिंदी दिवस समारोह का भव्य आयोजन किया गया। इस वर्चुअल आयोजन में न्यू जर्सी के अतिरिक्त, पेन्सिलवेनिया, डेलावेयर, न्यू यॉर्क प्रदेशों में रहने वाले भारतीय मूल के सदस्यों के साथ दर्जनों हिंदी शिक्षार्थी शामिल हुए। समारोह के आयोजन में मारीशस स्थित विश्व हिंदी सचिवालय, और अमेरिका की हिंदी संगम फाउंडेशन और शिक्षायतन नामक संस्थाओं का भी सहयोग रहा।
विगत कई वर्षों से युवा हिंदी संस्थान के शिक्षार्थी और हिंदी शिक्षक विश्व हिंदी सचिवालय के सहयोग से हिंदी दिवस समारोह का आयोजन करते आ रहे हैं, लेकिन यह पहली बार है कि हिंदी दिवस आयोजन ऑनलाइन हुआ। ज्ञातव्य है कि विश्व हिंदी सचिवालय की स्थापना भारत और मॉरीशस सरकारों के संयुक्त तत्वावधान में विश्व के कोने कोने में हिंदी प्रचार-प्रसार के लिए की गयी है।
समारोह की सबसे बड़ी विशेषता यह रही कि युवा हिंदी संस्थान के शिक्षार्थियों ने इसे फॉल सेमेस्टर कार्यक्रम के प्रथम दिवस के रूप में मनाया। प्राथमिक, माध्यमिक और उच्च विद्यालयों में पढ़ने वाले छात्र-छात्राओं ने अपने हिंदी ज्ञान का प्रदर्शन भी किया।
दसवीं कक्षा के छात्र और युवा हिंदी संस्थान के स्वयंसेवी रोहन शर्मा ने तो अपनी कविता पाठ से सबका दिल जीत लिया। रोहन ने महाकवि दिनकर की काव्य रचना 'रश्मिरथी' का एक अंश गाकर सुनाया जिसमें इन्द्र देवता दानवीर कर्ण से उनका कवच-कुण्डल दान में मांगते हैं, और कर्ण उसे सहर्ष दे देते हैं। अन्य विद्यार्थियों ने भी अपने हिंदी ज्ञान का परिचय प्रस्तुत किया, साथ ही यह इच्छा व्यक्त की कि वे अपनी हिंदी बोलने, लिखने और पढ़ने की क्षमता को बढ़ाना चाहते हैं। न्यू जर्सी, अमेरिका स्थित युवा हिंदी संस्थान द्वारा 20 सितंबर, 2020 को वर्चुअल हिंदी दिवस समारोह मनाया गया।
समारोह के आयोजक अशोक ओझा ने हिंदी दिवस के महत्त्व पर प्रकाश डालते हुए कहा कि यह दिन हम सबको हिंदी के प्रचार-प्रसार की याद दिलाता रहता है क्यों कि 14 सितंबर 1949 को स्वतंत्र भारत की संविधान सभा ने देवनागरी लिपि में प्रयुक्त हिंदी भाषा को भारत की राजभाषा के रूप में स्वीकार किया था, और ठीक एक वर्ष बाद सन 1950 में हिंदी को राजभाषा के रूप में विधिवत भारतीय संविधान में शामिल किया गया। "आज हिंदी विश्व के सर्वाधिक बोली जाने वाली भाषाओँ में प्रमुख स्थान पर विराजमान है। हम सबका कर्तव्य है कि हम दुनिया भर में हिंदी शिक्षण को आगे बढ़ाने के लिए सतत प्रयत्नशील रहें।"
समारोह का उदघाटन 'सरस्वती वंदना' से हुआ। 'शिक्षायतन' संस्था की प्रमुख और हिंदी संगम प्रतिष्ठान की ट्रस्टी श्रीमती पूर्णिमा देसाई ने अपने भावपूर्ण वक्तव्य में मां सरस्वती का आह्वान करते हुए कहा कि हिंदी भाषा में अपने भाव व्यक्त करना और उसे दैनिक बोलचाल का अंग बनाना माँ को आदर करने जैसा है। “हिंदी सरल और मधुर भाषा है जिसका व्यापक प्रयोग करना हम सबका कर्तव्य है।” युवा हिंदी संस्थान के सभापति श्री उपेंद्र चिवुकूला (बाएं) और शिक्षायतन प्रमुख श्रीमती पूर्णिमा देसाई , श्रीमती देसाई की भावनाओं का समर्थन करते हुए न्यू जर्सी के भूतपूर्व विधायक और युवा हिंदी संस्थान के सभापति उपेंद्र चिवुकूला ने हिंदी को व्यापार और वाणिज्य के लिए आवश्य बताते हुए कहा कि हिंदी अमेरिका में प्रमुख विदेशी भाषा का स्थान ग्रहण कर चुकी है, जिसका और विस्तार होना चाहिए। चिवुकूला ने हिंदी शिक्षण में महत्वपूर्ण योगदान के लिए युवा हिंदी संस्थान के कार्यों की सराहना की। समारोह के आयोजक युवा हिंदी संस्थान के अध्यक्ष अशोक ओझा ने हिंदी दिवस और संस्थान द्वारा संचालित हिंदी कार्यक्रमों का विवरण दिया। युवा हिंदी संस्थान के अध्यक्ष और निदेशक अशोक ओझा के अनुसार संस्था एक दशक से पेन्सिलवेनिया और न्यू जर्सी में हिंदी की विधिवत शिक्षा देती आ रही है। "अब हमने ऑनलाइन साधनों का प्रयोग करते हुए हिंदी शिक्षा का नया दौर प्रारम्भ किया है। हम प्रारंभिक, माध्यमिक, और उच्च विद्यालयों के शिक्षार्थियों को हिंदी बोलना, पढ़ना, और लिखना सिखायेंगे ताकि वे भविष्य में अपनी हिंदी प्रवीणता को समृद्ध कर सकें और अमेरिका में अन्य भाषा कार्यक्रमों में भाग ले सकें।"समारोह का समापन युवा हिन्दी संस्थान के शिक्षक समूह के उदगारों से हुआ, जिसका नेतृत्व श्रीमती संज्योत ताटके ने किया। अन्य शिक्षिकाओं, संध्याभगत, अंजू राय और सीमा वशिष्ठ ने उपस्थित समुदाय को बताया कि हिंदी शिक्षण अमेरिकी शिक्षण पद्धति का आवश्यक अंग बन चुका है, जिसे निरंतर समृद्ध करने के लिए युवा हिंदी संस्थान कृत संकल्प है। समारोह में 'इंडियन पैनोरमा' नामक अंग्रेजी प्रकाशन के संपादक इंद्रजीत सलूजा तथा अन्य भारतीय-अमरीकी समुदाय के नेताओं ने अपने उदगार व्यक्त किये।
Yuva Hindi Sansthan Virtually Celebrates Hindi Diwas in USA
Yuva Hindi Sansthan, a New Jersey based non-profit organization dedicated to promotion of Hindi teaching in USA, celebrated Hindi Diwas with a lot of excitement and enthusiasm as parents and Indian-American community leaders participated in the event. The event was sponsored by Mauritius based World Hindi Secretariat, a joint venture of India and Mauritius, established to monitor progress of Hindi learning worldwide. A few other cultural organizations, such as, Hindi Sangam Foundation and New York based Shikshayatan Cultural Organization also joined in the celebration. A large number of Elementary, Middle and High School students, who are learning Hindi at YHS Online Hindi Fall 2020 Program, along with their parents also assembled over Zoom to attend the first day of their online weekly Hindi class. Rohan Sharma, a student of class 10, was among the enthusiastic students who were eager to demonstrate their poetry recital skills. With his flawless Hindi Rohan recited a poem from the parts of ‘Rashmirathi’ (the chariot of light) authored by eminent Hindi poet Ramdhari Singh Dinkar. Rohan also provided the summary of the poem in English.Hindi Day is celebrated by government agencies and Hindi enthusiasts in India and all over the world on 14th September every year to promote and propagate the use of Hindi in day life. Hindi Day commemorates the adaptation of Hindi as the Official Language of the Union of India on 14th September 1949. In 1950, the Constitution of India adopted Hindi in the Devanagari script as the Official language of India.
The virtual Hindi Day event on September 20th began by a prayer song by Purnima Desai, a Hindi Sangam Foundation trustee. Reciting her prayer, ‘Saraswati Vandana’, she paid respect to the goddess of learning, ‘Saraswati’. “Celebrating Hindi is like respecting our mother. Every person of Indian origin should learn and communicate in Hindi”, said Mrs. Desai.
“Hindi, a major language in the world today, is increasing gaining popularity in USA”, said Upendra Chivukula, Chairman of Yuva Hindi Sansthan and a former NJ Assemblyman, who is currently serving as the commissioner of public utilities in New Jersey. Chivukula reminded the participants that the US government formally recognized Hindi as a critical language for US national security. “It is the duty of all Indian-Americans to learn Hindi which is also the official language of India”, he pointed out.
We will conduct year round programs to teach Hindi in USA”, said Ashok Ojha, president and program director of YHS Hindi Language and Culture Program. “We want our learners to be proficient in speaking, reading and writing Hindi so they could join future programs conducted by various government agencies, such as, the State Department”, he concluded.
The event coincided with the launch of the Fall Semester 2020 Hindi program conducted by Yuva Hindi Sansthan and Hindi Sangam Foundation. “I want to learn Hindi because I wish to understand it when I visit India and hear people converse in Hindi”, said Maya, one of the students. Students, like Rhea and Ria, who belong to families of mixed heritage, enthusiastically spoke in Hindi and expressed their desire to improve their Hindi proficiency. “We will conduct our Fall Semester Hindi learning program in 12 sessions”, informed Sanjyot Tatke, lead instructor of the program. “We will focus on conversation but reading and writing will be integral parts of our teaching”, she informed. Sanjyot will be supported by three more teachers, Sandhya Bhagat, Anju Rai and Seema Vashishtha, for conducting the program.Speakers at the event included Professor Indrajeet Saluja, editor of ‘Indian Panorama’, an online weekly magazine and parents of Hindi learners.
