The Yuva Hindi Sansthan and the Hindi Program at New York University offer a unique opportunity to study, improve, and develop Hindi languages skills and engage in collecting, organizing topic based audio, visual and textual materials as resources for developing final thematic curriculum documents for Hindi learners.

HOW TO APPLY FOR THE GLOBAL SEAL OF BILITERACY?
The Global Seal of Biliteracy enables recipients to showcase their language skills to any school or employer across state lines and national borders, with a unique serial-numbered document. Hindi learners, who took AAPPL tests and acquired the Intermediate-Mid proficiency level, may apply for The Global Seal of Biliteracy through their school district.

The purpose of this presentation is to provide a reference for heritage language teachers, especially, Hindi, for facilitating classroom learning to beginner level students and improving their proficiency to the next level.

2021 YHS STARTALK HINDI LANGUAGE AND CULTURE PROGRAM WILL USE SYNCHRONOUS AND ASYNCHRONOUS LEARNING PROGRAM USING ZOOM, GOOGLE CLASSROOM; STARTALK RECOMMENDED ONLINE TOOLS, LIKE, BOOK CREATOR; IDEABOARDZ AND MORE. FREQUENT BREAKS WILL BE PROVIDED TO RELIEVE STUDENTS FROM 'ZOOM FATIGUE'.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?: K-12 (Early Elementary (K-2); Elementary (Gr. 3-5); Middle ( Gr. 6-8); and High (Gr. 9-12) School students.

Upcoming Program (NEW)
YHS ONLINE HINDI LANGUAGE AND CULTURE PROGRAM 2020
Yuva Hindi Sansthan will conduct a 10-day online Hindi learning program from June 29 to July 10, 2020. This program is open for K-12 learners. THEME: 'MY VIRTUAL TRIP TO INDIA'
Students will learn speaking, reading and writing Hindi using maps, pictures, role plays and other topic related activities under the theme, ‘My Virtual Trip to India’. They will explore, interpret and analyze culturally authentic Indian products, practices, and perspectives (Interpretive); discuss, deconstruct and debate new understandings from the authentic input (Interpersonal); present their work to classmates for critique (Presentational). We will use Zoom online tools for real-time teaching, two hours a day, for the duration of the program. We have provided detailed information about this program on top of this page.

YHS-STARTALK HINDI LANGUAGE & CULTURE PROGRAM 2019
Yuva Hindi Sansthan, in partnership with North Penn School District, conducted its seventh YHS STARTALK Hindi Language and Culture Program 2019, from June 24-July 12, to teach Hindi to 53 Elementary, Middle and High School students. Authentic audio visual and textual materials were selected under the overarching theme, 'My virtual trip to India', divided into three sub-themes of 'things to see, do and eat' in the four destinations of North, South, East and Western regions of India. During the 105 hours of instruction students practiced greetings to address people they met in the trip using appropriate register, titles, courtesy expressions, and gestures.

SANGAM-FRANKLIN STARTALK HINDI LANGUAGE & CULTURE PROGRAM 2019
Sangam-Franklin STARTALK HINDI 2019, a 3 week, 105 instructional hours immersion program, taught speaking, reading and writing Hindi to a diverse group of 48 heritage and non-heritage group of Middle and High School students at Franklin High School, Somerset, NJ from July 22nd to August 8th, 2019. Under the theme of 'Storytelling', students explored and investigated lives and accomplishments of common people in India, who were also presented as role models. Students worked collaboratively, using visuals and texts, to retell the stories and create their versions.
