Instruction to applicants: please open the PDF document, print it if you like and practice writing. Please let us know (yhsbensalem2012@gmail.com) if you are already familiar with alphabets, we will send you some more simple writing samples for practice before we start our online program on June 29th.
A message for Hindi learners and parents:
Please watch this authentic video, 'Malgudi Days', authored by famous author R. K. Naryan. The serial portrays the life of 'Swami', a young student, and his friends. Heritage students can learn about life in pre-Independence days of India. Going forward we will share more video links about other episodes of 'Malgudi Days'.
After watching the video you may do the following activities. Your parents may help you by doing these activities. :
1. Retell the highlights of the story in your own words.
2. Students can role play the characters in the story.
3. Students can compare and contrast the lives of characters in the story with their own life in the USA. Use a Venn Diagram for this activity.
