Thousands of Foreign Languages teachers attended second language teaching workshops at the ACTFL CONVENTION launched today at the Walter E. Washington convention center in Washington DC. Some of the conference focus: intercultural competence and the power of pictures. I also attended ACTFL Assessment of performance to proficiency language (AAPL) testing session. We launched AAPPL Testing at ourSTARTALK programs in 2019. The National Council of Associations of Chinese Language Schools hosted a lunchon for heritage languages teachers and promoters of Chinese languages in USA. Chinese Language Association of Elementals and Secondary Education is also celebrating 30 years of its existence tomorrow. Rebecca Blouwolff, a teacher of French from Wellesley, MA, was awarded the ‘ACTFL Teacher of the Year’ award FOR 2020
